Homes101.net, a website that educates consumers with local school reports and other community information during the home buying process, has just opened nominations for the“2006 School Spirit Awards.”

Students, teachers and school administrators in grades K-12 can visit the site and nominate their school. Visitors need only to answer the question “What makes your school special?”

“Many home buyers and sellers are interested in the quality of education that a community has to offer,” said Steve Nickerson, president and CEO. “This is a way for the schools to show their spirit and promote their quality education programs.”

The School Spirit Awards are open to public and private elementary, middle and high schools in the United States. Schools may have multiple submissions. Complete guidelines can be found at Homes101.net. Entry deadline is Sept. 30, 2006 and award winners – one elementary, middle and high school in each state -- will be announced in mid-November.

The School Spirit Award will recognize schools with exceptional qualities, including caring teachers, fun activities, style of learning and community support.
